Communication with parents

This is what I sent home with your child today. If he/she did not show you, this is what it said.

Parents,

We will not have rehearsal Tuesday because of the high school open house and the middle school football game. We may have rehearsal Friday directly after school.  I am waiting for Dr. Strickland to schedule this. Students should have their parts memorized –pages 1-11 by this Tuesday (even though we do not have rehearsal) and pages 12-22 on the following Tuesday, September 23.  Please have your children on time to rehearsals.  This will be more important when we are in costumes. 

Laura Alexander has offered to coordinate parents so that everyone will be able to bring snacks on different days.  Her info is lalexander@shallowaterisd.net and her phone number is 806-781-1529.  Joanna Cunningham offered as well, but she has been organizing parents since Savannah was in the sixth grade and Savannah graduated last year. Two of our students have peanut allergies, so please, no snacks with peanuts.

 

The schedule is as follows for September:

Rehearsals:

 

Sundays -2-4:30- possibly 5:00.  Please let me know if your child has church activities because that precedes OAP rehearsals.  It does not count as an absence.

 

Tuesdays -5-7 or later

 

Fridays -3:30-4:45 of home games. 

 

I may have to ask some of you to make costumes.  I am going to Tulia this week – probably Thursday morning to look at theirs and possibly renting them – if they have clothes for our middle schoolers.  If not, and we don’t have costumes that fit from our collection, we may ask you to help out.

 

Please have your child/children return the next page to the middle school office Monday or to my room Monday.  Some students did not have the second page to the packets.  I believe it was the copier’s fault.  Some signatures I could not read – sorry. 

 

Please check the blog after every rehearsal.  Sometimes people do not check emails often. I will have critiques on actors, announce changes in rehearsal times, or ask for help with costumes, etc.

We have 33 students plus 5 high school students who help.  Please do not bring popcorn or brownies as snacks.  Popcorn gets everywhere and brownies get smashed in the carpet.  We have to clean up after every rehearsal.

This will be confidential, and I will be the only one who will know that you cannot bring snacks.
