Everyone	SPEAK slowly and hit consonants.  The light and sound people cannot understand you. WE are not racing to the end! Everyone – find a distinctive walk & gesture. Watch backs to the audience! Re-study scripts.  Know what the line is ahead of your's.
Mother	Be more sincere.  Love your son. Don’t ACT like you love him. React more to everything said on stage.
Giant’s wife	Speak SLOWER & LOWER.  Use diction.  You cannot be understood where the judge sits. Be more devious toward the chicken and be more frightened when the giant wakes up
Peddler	Work  on diction on pages 21-22.

Harp Lady	Put the harp out to the side so the audience can see it.

Everyone	Don’t be afraid to touch each other and have connections. Be animated the entire time. Don’t be afraid to act. Listen to what we tell you and correct it. Stay frozen if you are supposed to be frozen. Be your character Project DICTION – everyone  Circle consonants and exaggerate them. Don’t back up unless the directors have told you to back up.  It weakens your character. Watch your back – turned to the audience. Work on giant’s steps – wife, Jack and chicken Work on stage whispers Voices need to be LOWER except for Jack’s CAN ANYONE WHISTLE with fingers? Don’t talk to the floor TALK OVER MUSIC Don’t touch the curtain Face the audience – no profiles unless directors have told you to do this. Don’t block your face with gestures. The next rehearsal is Friday directly after the pep rally.  We will rehearse for one hour.
Sunday, rehearsal is from 2-4 or a little later. We have made a lot of progress.

Everyone	DICTION – circle all consonants.  Do not rush lines. People who are not on stage need to stay hidden Step on lines Open up to the audience to speak No straight lines SLOW DOWN – It’s not a race Learn your lines Work on gestures – must be natural Be quieter on stage – crossing Lower voice pitch- all voices need to be deeper Do not talk backstage All actors – more facial expressions Act from the toes to the head. Don’t yell – speak from the diaphragm Getting down the ladder is not a race. Watch blocking
Youngsters	When youngsters talk to peddler, they need to speak louder. Look for axe for five Mississippis. Play die differently and louder.
Peddler	Work on diction. Slow down Look more frightened when kids are threatening him
Sailors	Escort Jack’s father to his cell

Everyone	DICTION!!!!!!!!!!!! Circle all the consonants in your scripts. Open up toward the audience Don’t stand in straight lines Use levels. Stay in character Always be focused on the speakers DO NOT TALK BACKSTAGE DO NOT WALK BEHIND THE SCRIM Work on people noises Everyone -Speak slowly Be bigger Step on lines Be ready and pay attention Work on eye contact Act and REACT TO ANYTHING SAID while you are on stage unless you are not in the scene. Learn all lines by Tuesday – no scripts on stage! Be on stage at 5 on Tuesday. Friday we play here so we will have rehearsal from 3:30-4:30/4:45

Notes on Jack and the Giant Beanstalk

Everyone	We have peanut allergies in our group, so do not bring anything to rehearsal that has peanuts. Project Watch happy feet or swaying – don’t do it. DO NOT WALK BEHIND THE SCRIM (WHITE CURTAIN) BE BIGGER! Look at who you are talking to. Open up to the audience Step on lines Need more facial expressions. Diction – HIT ALL CONSONANTS Have connections by touching Face the audience. Ship needs to be in-sync More people noises Slow motion in the back is distracting because it is in different speeds. Laughing and games not realistic BE lOUDER _Everyone Have purpose
Lights	More light on village and Jack’s house
Reese	Fighting – don’t speak until you are facing the audience. Attack, Ned needs to be louder and bigger Vary your voice Feel how sharp your father’s sword is Be more hcildlike
